Is It Good To Do A Fast Diet?

Many people have different reasons for wanting to find a fast diet. This can be anything from an upcoming event, such as a class reunion or wedding, to wanting to look amazing in that new bikini at the beach. Dropping 10 pounds in a week suddenly becomes a necessity. While it may be desirable, is it healthy?

Most health professionals would say that losing weight fast is the worst possible road to take. There are many valid reasons for this opinion, too. Losing weight too quickly can cause any number of problems, not to mention that any excess weight lost in this way does not stay off. Even armed with this knowledge does not seem to keep people from trying a fast diet, though.

You simply drink or eat a Slim Fast product in place of a meal. This plan usually calls for you to use the replacement for breakfast and lunch, and enjoy a well balanced dinner. Using this plan can drop the weight quickly, but even that may not be as fast as you want.

An even more effective fast diet is to simply fast for a few days. Taking in nothing but liquids will drop a significant amount of weight in a very short time. As long as you are drinking enough liquids, you will be fine to do this up to 4 days. But it is certainly not a good idea to do this for a longer period of time, or on a regular basis.

A method of rapid weight loss that falls somewhere between fasting and liquid meal replacement was developed by the makers of Special K cereal. They suggest that you eat a bowl of Special K cereal in place of breakfast and lunch, while eating a well-balanced dinner. In recent years, they have also added other things such as water and meal bars to have in place of, or in combination with, the cereal. People who have used this say it is a pretty good fast diet.

If you really need to lose weight quickly, or you think that you do, be sure to take plenty of vitamins while on the plan of your choice. You do not realize how much you are depriving your body when you follow one of these methods to lose weight fast. If you are taking vitamin supplements at the same time you are on your fast diet, chances are good that you can remain healthy through it, as well as lose the weight you want.
